My photographs explore the relational connection between subject and space with subtle elements of emotion. The people I photograph and film are not models or professional actors. As a result there’s a certain innocence and subtle tension that is captured within the body language that become transparent in the photograph. In order to bridge the emotion and aesthetics, I consider the body in relation to its environment and how it fits visually within the context of the space it occupies. I grapple with issues of personhood, identity and vulnerability. Room in Here started as a fascination with interiors and the people that occupy them. It derived from my curiosity to know how others existed in private and intimate spaces.
